Give it a try

Can't believe it is October 17th already.  This year is flying by.  No time like the present to try using some technology in the classroom.  Try and pick one lesson and let me help you enhance the learning experience with technology.
You may feel overwhelmed with all of your responsibilities, but that is where I come in.  I can do the research and get you started.  I encourage you to GIVE IT A TRY!

Here is what some of your colleagues are doing with technology...
In the picture above Kim Honey is pointing to the location of the school in Norway that her students will be skyping with next week.  Kim and I did a practice run and skyped with the teacher from Norway last week to talk about the details.  Looking forward to the experience.  If any of you are interested in checking it out come down to G hallway during double 1 next Tuesday.

In this photo Katie Salt and Maura Morrison are posing with Jim Polito(former Fox news reporter, now radio talk show host) after he spoke to their students.  Why, you may ask, is this on the technology blog?  Well, I contacted Jim via facebook and asked if he would either skype with our students or come visit and he happily agreed.  The point is it does not hurt to ask.  Click here to learn more about inviting virtual guests or real guests to visit your classroom.

Shout out to Eileen Falcone for trying a new collaboration activity with her students, ipads and SmartBoard.

Above is the word cloud that Felicia Rutigliano and Steve Godbout created from the responses received from a google form.  One of Felicia's roles as a co-teaccher is to help enrich the class with language to reach all learners.  This was a great way to achieve that goal and it was very simple.

Hopefully you will consider coming to my tech class next Wednesday on creating an online quiz or exit ticket with a google form.  Sign up by clicking here, or just check out the Google form I made.

Last, but not least, please comment below on this week's blog post.  Remember it is still Blogtober for a couple of weeks so GIVE IT A TRY.
