Trick or Tweet

I enjoyed showing you how much twitter has helped me
at the faculty meeting on Monday.  Hoping some of you are either trying out twitter for the first time or using it more than you did before to expand your Personal learning Network,#gonkrocks!!!

The picture above is a screen shot of one of the Skype sessions Kim Honey's class had with Norway.  We have skyped twice and it worked out really well.  The kids enjoyed the experience and had some great conversations about current events and multiculturalism.  Brian Mawson and I are in the process of setting up another session with Norwegian students who are studying the American educational system and what to discuss sports and athletics with our students.
Christine Ferreira and Tricia Riley have been teaching their Computer Essentials students all about the app Explain Everything.  It is such a great way for the kids to make presentations and explain what they have learned.  It is also a great tool for teachers to use to make a screen cast.  I encourage you to give it a try.  Think of one project you have done in the past that you might change a little bit and try using Explain Everything this time around.

Can't wait to see the amazing lessons that Ann Fuhrman, Kaitlyn Martain, and  Moniquie Cloutier will create to use on their new Eno Boards.  Instructional support is really "teching it out".  The CAP program will also be trying some Augmented Reality next week.

And last but not least I will be adding a new technolgy integration tool for you to try out with each new blog post! So here goes...
ThingLink is a free online tool that will make "interactive images that help students develop 21st century skills and enrich their enthusiasm for learning."(https://www.thinglink.com/edu).  Click here to see  a thinglink that I made.  Click here to see some examples of how it is being used in a high school classroom and here if you want a tutorial of how to create your own

Feel free to comment on anything mentioned above and/or email me if you want help integrating technology into your curriculum.  Happy Halloween Algonquin!!
